ATLofts are loft style condominium units located above retail in Atlantic Station. Atlantic Station is a “micro city” designed as huge mixed use development for residential, commercial and retail use. Grocery, retail stores, bars, restaurants and Movie Theater are all within walking distance. All units are two-story, some with and some without balconies. Finishes include cherry cabinets, stainless steel appliances and hardwood flooring in the living areas. Kitchens are rather small even on the larger floorplans. Bathroom finishes are not spectacular but can be considered updated. In our opinion overall product quality is average, however square footage is very attractive. ATLofts were originally priced from $400’s. And with all the hype about Atlantic Station were actually selling at that price. However now story is different; prices have adjusted into $100’s and buying a newer construction two-story lofts at that price level looks like a fantastic deal. But like always there is a catch (!) and that is the fact that you will not be able to get conventional financing for ATLofts (since overall project is not meeting “loan backing” guidelines). However, ones it becomes “financeble” I believe value of these lofts will increase, so there is definitely a “speculative” potential. Plus finding that much space for the money anywhere else in the city will be challenging.
